My New Winter Coat!

Coat from Primark £25

Despite the sun blaring through my window, the ever-plummeting temperatures are a constant reminder that colder seasons are approaching us, so with the shops releasing cosy clothes for winter, it seemed about right to begin talking about autumn and winter fashion. Now if you had to ask me want item of clothing is the most essential for the chillier months, I would definitely say a nice warm coat. The ones I've picked out don't all exactly abide to the current trends, but that is because a winter coat is a long lasting piece, that you are going to keep hold of for a good few years, so you will want to pick out a more classic design.

Something else you may notice, is that these coats are slightly more expensive than your average piece of clothing, however, you should view buying a winter coat as more of an investment. Should you be going out, you will be wearing this coat everyday of winter, so you shouldn't feel as though your money is wasted. Secondly, out of the clothes you wear, your coat will provide you with the best insulation, so the extra money will be mean a thicker fabric. I remember that the last coat I had got, was a black one, on sale in Debenhams for £32, but I wore it constantly, and it lasted me a good four years, which works out at about £8 a year!

So below, I've picked out a few of my favourite coats on the highstreet. After having black coats for such a long period of time, I was in the mood for something a bit different!

Style Crush: Mila Kunis

The actress Mila Kunis is probably best known for her role in Black Swan, however, not everyone will realise, but she is also the voice of Meg Griffin in Family Guy! But trivia aside, Mila definitely knows how to work the red carpet. She always wears such stunning pieces which are often very classic, but to mix it up, the colour or print gives the outfit a modern twist. Not only is her apparel spot on, but her hair, whether it's ruffled and curled, or put up in a sleek bun always looks perfect!

Next week, Shenae Grimes (a.k.a Annie from 90210!)

So with school fast approaching, I'd like to share with you a few beauty essentials that in the past have proven very useful to me during school time.

What To Keep In Your School Makeup Bag

H M hair accessory
£1.50 - hm.com

Whenever we'd be working with Bunsen burners in science, dangerous equipment in DT, painting or running   around in P.E, hair isn't something that you'd want to get in the way! Always keep a couple with you!

H M hair clip accessory
£1.50 - hm.com

There's nothing more annoying than hair getting in your face or your hairstyle falling out of place, so have hair clips or bobby pins to ensure your  hair won't have to be an issue throughout the day.

Hello Kitty Blotting Papers 100 Sheets
$12 - sephora.com

If you're like me and have oily skin, then these will definately become your skin's best friend! Basically, if your skin is getting shiny, pat this all over your face to absorb any excess oil, but still keep your makeup intact! I get mine from Boots' skincare line, and my blotting sheets are impregnated with salicylic acid which also helps spots!

L'Oreal True Match Powder - Creamy Natural : Target
$8.99 - target.com

Another solution to keeping your face matte is applying powder over (should you be wearing any) foundation.

Benefit Benetint
$42 - asos.com

The great thing about cheek tint is that you can give your face a natural, dewey finish that is perfect for school when you don't want to look 'cakey' and too 'dolled up'. A cheap alternative for Benetint or Posietint are the cheek and lip tints by 2True, which can be found in Superdrug.
Rimmel London Royal Gloss Lip Gloss
$6.90 - asos.com

Should you want to add a hint of colour and a natural gloss to brighten up your look, a juicy tube is ideal. They are inexpensive and taste delicious!

Aveda Inner Light Conceal
£16 - houseoffraser.co.uk

Late nights finishing off homework and studying or the stress of exams, can have implications on your skin. To make you look a little more chirpier in the day time, have a concealer with you to touch up on any blemishes or under-eye circles.
Marc Jacobs Daisy by Marc Jacobs Fragrance .6 OZ Purse Spray w/ .5 OZ...
$45 - couture.zappos.com

Very often, your perfume can wear off during the day so to keep you smelling sweet, a tiny bottle of perfume is ideal. The lighter the perfume bottle, the better.
Floral - Fragrance - Bath & Body Works
$11 - bathandbodyworks.com

If you don't want a scent too heavy, then a light body spray smells light and fresh and can cool you down too.
eos Lemon Drop with SPF 15 Lip Balm Sphere : Target
$2.99 - target.com

To prevent dry or crapped lips, a moisturizing lip balm is a must have! Plus they taste delicious too!
Dove Revive Deodorant Stick - 2.6 oz. : Target
$3.64 - target.com

School classrooms can get pretty hot and after a good work out in a gym lesson, then you'll be in need of deoderant to freshen up.

Buy Cath Kidston Rose Cosmetic Bag online at JohnLewis.com
£12 - johnlewis.com

To encase all of your bits and bobs, you'll need a cute little make-up bag, Primark do some great ones for under £2, so I definitely recommend checking out there.
Chantecaille Face Brush Small Handle
$73 - barneys.com

So I wouldn't spend $73 on a brush, but I just used this one for the picture. Obviously, to apply your powder you'll be needing a brush.
Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof Mascara - Brownish...
$0.60 - target.com

Mascara always looks pretty on the eyes, and brightens them up, so should you not get time to put it on in the morning like myself, or just need a quick touch up, then bring a long your favourite mascara.

Your hands can get dry, so a hand cream will keep them soft and sweetly scented.

Other things that I didn't get a picture of, that I recommend you bring, are a mirror, so you can see what you are doing when applying makeup, sanitary towels or tampons, and mints for bresh breath!

I hope you found this handy!

Lots of Love,

Could You Please Help Me With Something? : )

Studs!

So about four weeks ago, I finally got my ears pierced. I had been meaning to get them done for years, but lots of things put me off, and I just never got round to it. However, now I am glad that I decided to get them done, but now I am left with a few queries that I'm hoping one of you could help me with.

If you have had your ears pierced then you probably know that you have to leave your earrings in for a six-week healing period where you need to clean your ears 2-3 times a day, so my first question is:
how often should you clean your ears after the six-week period?

So then, after your ears have healed, you are able to switch your earrings, but what kind of earrings can you switch them to? I have been trawling the internet looking for answers, and some say you should wear post-style earrings for six months, meaning un-reactive metals like sterling silver, hypo-allergenic metal, gold, silver etc. and other people have said you can where non-precious metals that most earrings on the high street are made of. So my second question is: could you please tell me your experiences on what earrings you wore after six-weeks?

Finally, is it OK to wear earrings after six-weeks, that have a long strand with a small precious stone on the end. The ones they sell in Primark, if you know them.

I'd really appreciate it if you could give me a little hand! Anyway, stay tune for tomorrow where I'll have a 'What To Put In Your School Makeup Bag', oh, I almost forgot, please give me any blog post suggestions! This can be any Back to School posts, maybe something for Autumn or Winter?

Lots of Love,

Outfit of the Day: 'Chloe Moretz inspired'

I saw an image of the actress Chloe Moretz wearing an outfit in an issue of Teen Vogue last year, and I really liked it. So whilst browsing in Primark, I spotted a top that was very similar to the one she wore, and so I built an outfit very similar to hers, but more casual.

So you can compare the two outfits, here is Chloe's:

She's so beautiful and I adore her taste in fashion!

And here is my outfit:

I'm really sorry about the poor quality. Next time I'll get someone a little more reliable to take the pictures!

Top- £4 Primark
Denim high-waisted shorts- £14.99 H&M
Tights- (from a pack of two) £2 (I think) Primark
Shoes- £5 Primark

(Items in bold should still be in stores)

Update! :D

So I haven't had a proper little chat here for a while, so I will be letting you know what's been happening (you're probably extremely excited about this- not!).

But anyway, if there is the tiniest chance one of you could be interested, then this is for you!

So the first thing I want to tell you, is that as you can hopefully tell, my blog has had a bit of a makeover. It's a lot more interesting for the eye than it was before, and a tad more girly! I really hope you like what I've done, and would like to hear your thoughts on it, they're really handy to me!

Also, I want to wish all of those getting their GCSE results on Thursday the best of luck, I really hope you get the grades you desire!

And I want to ask whether you have any blog post requests or improvements for my blog; maybe you don't like the size of my pictures, the font, or you would like to see more photographs. I have got some posts lined up too; I have about three outfit of the days that I've written up, but I just need the pictures. It's really difficult to take pictures of myself, so I need to find someone who is willing to take them for me; I promise they'll will be up throughout this week and next week.

In addition, I went to Primark on Saturday, I didn't really buy much though. It was mostly essentials like underwear, a pyjama top and some combs, not very interesting to be honest, but what was interesting is my new winter coat. I'm super excited about it, so I will feature that in a blog post, and some other adorable coats I have seen around. I am also in the process of doing a blog post about finding £1makeup, so that will be an interesting one to look forward to!

I have created quite a few blog posts on Polyvore which is a really great collage creating website that I recommend. Most of my Polyvore ones without any words written by me, will be ones when I don't have time to blog, and just really quick, fun ones for you to check out. One that I will be putting out in a couple of days is what to put in your school makeup bag, which you'll be needing very soon!

Finally, just to keep you entertained for now, I want to share a few of my oldest blog posts, that I doubt any of you have seen, but I think are worth checking out.

Style Crush: Hailee Steinfeld

At fourteen years old, Hailee Steinfeld is relatively young, but not to be underestimated. Just earlier this year, she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the film True Grit, and is now the new face of Miu Miu. In my opinion, she is definately deserving of this, for her style is has so many aspects to it; she can be quirky, casual or classic and definitely has an eye for beautiful garments!

Please also check out 'Style Crush: Emma Watson' here, which was last weeks post!

Next Week, Mila Kunis!

Lots of Love,
